Rebecca shows what the people who genuinely love their work have in common, and how anyone can build the same kind of agency into theirs. Employee engagement has been flat for two decades, despite billions spent on culture, benefits and perks. Now AI is forcing a harder question about what humans are for at work. Rebecca argues the missing ingredient is agency, and shows leaders what has to change in the system for it to grow. Based on her forthcoming book.

What Great Leaders Do Differently

Most leaders say they want their people to think for themselves, take ownership, and grow. Then, without meaning to, they lead in ways that make all three harder. Rebecca introduces the AgencyBACkbone™ framework, and gives every leader in the room something to change on Monday morning.

When you want the topic to land, not just be heard

Any of the three topics can be run as a workshop. The group works with the ideas, not just hears them, and each session is built around the questions they've come with.

Half day

Focused session

Three to four hours with a leadership team or working group. One topic, taken deeper, with room for the group to apply it to their own context.

Good for leadership offsites, team away-days, and away-mornings where a talk alone would leave the ideas floating.

Full day

Immersive workshop

A full day of exploration, discussion, and application. Deeper diagnostic work, more time for the group to test the ideas against their own reality, and a follow-on plan for what changes after the day itself.

Suited to leadership team development, cross-functional teams working through change, or manager cohorts building shared language.

Evidence-based development for leaders and teams

Where a talk or workshop is one event, leadership and team development is a longer relationship. It's for leaders and teams ready to work on the shifts that change how they lead, decide, and operate under pressure.

As a business psychologist, I bring both the depth of psychological insight and the experience of working alongside leaders in complex organisations.

My focus is on application. Insight only matters if it changes how someone leads, decides, and responds under pressure. So the sessions are direct, practical, and built around the shifts that hold up when it counts.

For leaders or teams who want a structured personality lens, the Big Five Personality Questionnaire (BFPQ) is available as an optional add-on.

For mid to senior leaders building real agency in how they lead, decide, and operate. We work through the challenges the leader is facing, building momentum through focused, practical sessions.

Team Development

Facilitated sessions to build shared understanding of how team members think, work, and lead. Teams often discover that what looked like conflict was a lack of awareness about different working styles.

Optional: the Big Five Personality Questionnaire (BFPQ) can be added to either format, for leaders or teams who want a structured personality lens on how they lead.

As a rough guide, online talks and webinars start from £1,250, half-day workshops from £2,500, and full-day workshops from £3,500. Leadership development is bespoke and quoted on request.
